Cooking With Ethan: How to Make Dirt Worm Pudding
This simple, fun pudding dish is a great dessert that goes well with Fourth of July picnics.
Meet Ethan Williams. He's 5 years old, lives in Rochester Hills and loves to cook.
Today, he'll teach you how to make one of his all-time favorite desserts: dirt worm pudding. This recipe makes about four servings.
Here's what you'll need:

- 2 c. milk (for pudding)
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 package Oreo cookies
- Gummy worms
Here's how to make it:
- Following the directions on the box, mix up the pudding; set aside.
- Toss about a dozen Oreos into a gallon bag and smash 'em. (Ethan opted to use his fists, but a rolling pin works, too.)
- Fill the bottoms of four 8-ounce cups with cookie crumbles.
- Add a layer of pudding (Ethan buried a "hidden worm" in this layer).
- Add another layer of cookie crumbles.
- Add a little more pudding, and top with a sprinkling of cookie crumbles and another gummy worm.
Children love it because it's a dessert that looks like dirt, and adults just love the taste.
