On Friday, Oakland County Sheriff's Office investigators continue to interview witnesses and process evidence collected at the scene. No injuries were reported in the suspected exchange of gunfire, which department officials said occurred a short distance from a playground.
Sheriff's investigators determined the two men became involved in a shooting incident in the parking lot of the complex, the report indicated. The 23-year-old man, who holds a concealed pistol license, told investigators he was confronted in the parking lot by the 21-year-old man and discharged his firearm from inside his vehicle to protect himself.
According to Sheriff's officials, both men provided conflicting accounts of what had transpired and witnesses told officials both men might have had handguns.
Once evidence is processed, the incident will be reviewed by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.Â
