Oakland Township Resident Fires 'Warning' Shot at Repo Man, Cops Say
The man repossessing a vehicle in loan default reports being confronted by 'some guy with a gun.'

Nobody was injured late Thursday evening when a resident of the 600 block of Romeo Road in Oakland Township fired a single shot at the man who was attempting to repossess his 2010 Ford truck, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report.
"Upon arrival, the repo company spotted the (vehicle) and entered the property," read the report. "Upon walking up to the house, the repo person was confronted by ... the property owner in the driveway."
The property owner told the Universal Auto Recovery employee to "freeze and identify yourself." The property owner said that he felt threatened by the man, so he fired a "warning" shot about three feet to the side of the individual with his 40-caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun.

"I got confronted by some guy with a gun pointing it right at me," said the auto recovery employee in his witness statement. He added that he "told the man with the gun who he was ... and that he was there for the truck," according to the police report.
He said the property owner "fired one round into the ground and ... put the gun down and gave him the keys to the truck."

The reposession company was allowed to take the vehicle and leave the scene.
The individual who fired the shot may face charges but has not yet been charged with a crime, according to the report.
