PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Several 911 calls appear to show the downfall of former Michigan Wolverines football coach Sherrone Moore, according to news reports.

Moore, 39, was arrested Wednesday after officers responded to a home in the 3000 block of Ann Arbor Saline Road in Pittsfield Township shortly after 4:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an assault. Police did not include any names in their news release but did cite "multiple media requests for information."

A 911 dispatcher said that a "male was at the location in the house attacking (a woman), and stalking her for months," according to a Fox 2 Detroit report.

In another 911 call, a dispatcher said "the person she’s on the phone with said that S1 grabbed knife, threatened to kill her, and then ran, threw the knife down," while mentioning the subject was experiencing a mental health crisis and was "suicidal," WDIV reports.

Less than an hour after the 911 calls, the University of Michigan announced they had fired Moore for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, which the university said "constitutes a clear violation of University policy."

Moore remains jailed at the Washtenaw County Jail. He was expected to appear in court Friday for potential charges connected to the assault allegations.

Moore's firing was effective immediately, and the team announced Biff Poggi as interim coach.

Moore had just finished his second season and led the Wolverines to a 9-3 record. They finished No. 18 in the College Football Playoff rankings. They will play the Texas Longhorns in Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

Moore, who replaced Jim Harbaugh, went 18-8 as the team's coach.
