Barefoot Productions to Open 8th Season with Edgar Allan Poe Thriller

Barefoot Productions will begin its 8th season with auditions for its first Main Stage production "Murder by Poe," written by Jeffrey Hatcher.

Barefoot Productions Artistic Director and Founder Craig Hane will direct the production. 

"Murder by Poe" is a drama-thriller adapted from some of Edgar Allan Poe's most famous stories: "The Black Cat," "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" and "The Fall of the House of Usher."

Barefoot Productions' staging of "Murder by Poe" will mix fun house tricks with Haunted House scares. Performance dates will be Oct. 11 through Oct. 20.

Auditions will be held at the Barefoot Productions Theatre, located at 240 N. Main St. in Plymouth from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 and Tuesday, Aug. 13. 

There are seven roles for men and seven roles for women. Characters range in age from 19 to 65-years-old. 
 
Actors are asked to bring a resume and headshot, if available. The audition will include cold readings from the script, but Hane also asks to please be prepared to recite a section from Poe's "The Raven."
