Canton's Brew, Brats And Bands At The Barn Set For Preservation Park

Although the historic barn burned down a few years ago, the unique beer tasting event will still go on at Preservation Park.

PLYMOUTH-CANTON, MI — The 13th annual Brew, Brats and Bands at the Barn will take place at Canton's Preservation Park, despite no longer having a barn at its location. All proceeds will once again support the Canton Historical Society.

The unique beer tasting event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 6-9 p.m. in Preservation Park, as organizers still believe the park's scenic location, located at 500 N. Ridge Road, remains the perfect backdrop for this popular fall event.

"This event will always be affectionately known as B4 because it was ‘Brews, Brats and Bands at the Barn’ and it will remain so even without the physical barn," said Gregg King, Canton Historical Society member and fundraiser organizer. "Each September it is an honor to host this annual fall tradition at a park that perserves and celebrates historical buildings."

Canton Township officials expect to rebuild the barn after confirming last summer that plans to produce a social media post were the original cause of the flames that engulfed and destroyed the barn. Officials expect the barn to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $500,000.

Tickets are $40 if you buy them online before Sept. 9 and $45 at the door (cash only). Tickets can be purchased online here. Designated Driver tickets are also available for just $10. Additional beer tasting tickets are available for purchase; receive 4 additional tickets for just $5.
