Fourth Grade Teachers Collaborate to Help Students
Hulising Teachers Alaura Kane, Morgan Church and Kellie Broderick
Learning in a remote setting can be stressful for students and can sometimes make it difficult to understand lessons. To address all of these concerns, Hulsing Elementary School’s fourth grade teachers have teamed up to help their young learners thrive using a powerful electronic learning tool. Kellie Broderick, Morgan Church and Alaura Kane have been utilizing the program Nearpod to engage students while they are learning online. The teachers have students draw, fill in the blank, answer short questions, play games and collaborate using the program. They also use it each morning to outline the day’s schedule so students know what to expect and stay on track. They even use it for social emotional learning lessons, vocabulary and reading lessons too. While it’s different than being in the same room with their students, these clever and creative educators have found a way to make remote learning fun and engaging.
