Livonia Man Charged In New Year's Day Shooting Outside Karaoke Bar: Prosecutor

A 55-year-old man and his 22-year-old son were in critical condition, according to police.

GARDEN CITY, MI — A Livonia man has been charged in connection with a Garden City shooting that left two people injured on New Year's Day, according to prosecutors.

The shooting happened last Thursday at 4:15 a.m. outside the Rockstarz Karaoke Bar where officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, according to prosecutors.

Brian Jaron Lindsay, 29, was charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, two counts of felonious assault and six counts of felony firearm.

He faces up to life in prison for the intent to murder charge.

He was placed in jail with a $1 million bond. His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 12.

Prosecutors said the men got into a fight in the parking lot of the bar before Lindsay shot the 55-year-old man in the head and his 22-year-old son in the chest.

They were both taken to a nearby hospital where they were listed in critical condition, prosecutors said.

Lindsay turned himself into police at 6 p.m. Thursday, prosecutors said.
