Managing daily student illness and absences (for students who may have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection or COVID-19 related absences) is an important mitigation strategy in the district COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan:

In accordance with this mitigation strategy, the district will be following an attendance guideline and utilizing specific attendance codes to ensure that students who may be potentially exposed or have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 do not attend school until it is safe to do so. We need your help.

It is important that you are very specific regarding your child’s absence reason when calling in your student’s absence or putting your student’s absence in MiStar. If your student is noted to have an absence related to illness or has any symptoms that may be suggestive of COVID-19 or you do not provide a reason for your child’s absence, you will receive a robocall from the district outlining the conditions when your child can return to school. We are strictly following these district guidelines.
