Online Bill Pay Coming This Summer: Plymouth Township
A new Plymouth Township contract will give residents the ability to pay online, by phone, or in person using their credit card by July 1.
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — Paying Plymouth Township bills will become a lot more convenient for residents by this summer. Township trustees approved a contract Tuesday that will give residents the ability to pay online, by phone, or in person using their credit card. But there is a catch.
Credit card payments will be charged a three percent convenience fee while $3 will be charged for electronic checks. The township will accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover cards, according to Treasurer Mark Clinton. Residents can also pay with their credit card in person at Plymouth Township hall or pay bills directly through their bank account via electronic check.
“One of the biggest requests I’ve received from residents is to be like our neighboring communities and be able to pay bills electronically,” said Clinton. “Up until now, the only way you could pay bills was by cash or check.”

Florida-based Point and Pay LLC will provide services to the township under the contract. The new service will be operational by July 1, in time for the summer tax bill. An icon will appear on the township’s website for easy access to online bill payment.
Supervisor Kurt Heise said online bill payments is all about being responsive to township residents and focusing on customer service. “We’re listening to our hardworking taxpayers and working to make their lives easier wherever we can,” he said.
