STEM-enthusiastic girls participated in the annual Girls in STEM event hosted at Schoolcraft College in early March. The 5th - 8th grade girls spent a Saturday morning learning about careers in STEM fields. The day began with P-CCS high school seniors, Khushi Samal and Claire Swisher, speaking powerfully to an auditorium of girls and their families about the importance of being ok with getting out of their comfort zones, being brave and feeling like they belong in math and science classes and most importantly, supporting each other. This was followed by participating in coding, web design and an esports tournament in the labs at Schoolcraft College. Adult family members were treated to a tour and information on the college application process.
