State Cites Plymouth Restaurant For Coronavirus Violations
A Plymouth restaurant has been cited by the state of Michigan for reported violations of the state's coronavirus health restrictions.
PLYMOUTH, MI — A Plymouth restaurant has been cited by the state of Michigan for reported violations of the state's coronavirus health restrictions, according to state records.
Plymouth ROC Restaurant, 1020 W. Ann Arbor Rd., has had its licenses and permits suspended by the state because it was allowing indoor service in an enclosed patio area in violation of state orders, according to a summary suspension order.
A hearing will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday regarding the suspensions, according to state officials.

According to a state filing, an officer with the Plymouth Police Department on Dec. 3 visited the restaurant for an inspection when they saw a group of five people inside an outdoor patio area that had been "completely enclosed by a clear, tarp-like material and which had a roof."
The temporary structure was not in compliance with state-mandated health restrictions due to the roof and because it was enclosed, so the officer cited the business, according to a report.

On Dec. 7, a Wayne County health inspector spoke with the owners of the restaurant, who said they would remove the roof of the outdoor structure, according to a state filing.
But the structure was never modified, according to a state suspension order. On Dec. 15, Plymouth officials received videos of people still eating and drinking at the restaurant. Later that same day, officers from the Plymouth Police Department responded to the restaurant for a noise complaint and noticed people inside the patio area, which was still enclosed.
