Westland Man ID'd As Man Found Along I-275 Neat Canton: MSP

The 32-year-old man was found on the side of the expressway near Ford Road although police do not know what caused him to leave his car.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 28-year-old Westland man has been identified as the person who was found dead along I-275 on Sunday, the Michigan State Police announced.

Canton Police said that portions of I-275 were closed near Ford Road for several hours on Sunday after police responded to the report of a man being found along the side of the expressway just after 10 p.m. police said.

Michigan State Police identified the person on Monday as being a 28-year-old Westland resident. Police said on Monday that pieces of the man’s rental car were found along the side of the expressway.

Police are unsure why the man got out of his vehicle. The state police is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the agency by calling 855-MICH-TIP or 800-SPEAK-UP.
