Discovery Hike on the Clinton River Trail

Take a one-hour hike along the Clinton River Trail in this event presented by the Green Space Advisory Board of Rochester Hills. Start the hike at one of two information tents: one is located at Avon Road east of Livernois and one is located west of Diversion Street at the Rochester Hills border.

Here's what is planned:

  • Enjoy a hike along the fabulous Clinton River Trail, and explore some of the undeveloped properties purchased by the city of Rochester Hills, which are now protected as perpetual Green Spaces.
  • Stop at the various Information Stations, where volunteers will share information about the plants, animals, ecology, and history of these properties, as well as their impact on the health of the Clinton River.
  • Learn about invasive plants and efforts to eradicate them.
  • Chat with a Bike Patrol officer from the Sheriff’s Department, and watch a kayak demonstration on the Clinton River.
  • Enter our raffle for a chance to win one of the terrific prizes donated by our sponsors. Raffles are located at the information tents.
  • You can also pick up lots of information about green spaces, the Clinton River corridor, and outdoor recreation throughout the City.
  • Wear footwear appropriate to the weather.
