Man Killed, Shooter Calls 911 On Himself: Auburn Hills Police

The killing was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public, police said.

AUBURN HILLS, MI — A 24-year-old shot a man and then called authorities to report what he had done, police said.

The 911 call came in around 8 p.m. Saturday for an address in the 1100 block of Doris Road in Auburn Hills, according to police.

Responding officers found a 47-year-old Auburn Hills man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, according to police.

The gunman cooperated with law enforcement and was taken into custody by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in Pontiac, where he lives, police said. The shooter and weapon were turned over to Auburn Hills police, according to authorities.

The two men knew each other and an altercation preceded the shooting, police said, adding the killing was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
