Mental Competency Exam Ordered For Man Charged In Cat's Beating Death
A Rochester Hills man will undergo a mental competency exam in connection with the beating death of a cat.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI. — A 33-year-old Rochester Hills man charged with beating his roommate’s cat to death with a hammer has been ordered to undergo a mental competency evaluation. The order was given during David Hu’s probable cause hearing Wednesday at 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills.
Hu is currently being held on a $100,000 cash bond. Earlier this month, he was arrested by Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies after allegedly attacking the cat. The cat’s owner tried to intervene and stop the beating, but was pushed away, the Sheriff’s Office previously stated.
