Dog Shot, Killed After Biting Animal Control Worker

The dog, which was in quarantine already for biting family members, was shot after it bit and seriously injured an animal control worker.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI - An Oakland County animal control worker was seriously injured after being bitten by a dog that was already in quarantine for biting its family.

According to officials, the veteran shelter worker was on duty when they were attacked by the pit bull and the animal gave no warning to being aggressive.

WDIV reported that an animal control officer tried unsuccessfully to get the dog off the work before another officer shot and killed the dog.

The worker’s injuries were non-life-threatening. They are recovering at a local hospital.

The dog will be tested for rabies as part of standard procedure.
