Rochester Hills City Council VP Among County's 'Elite 40 Under 40'

Michael Webber, vice president of the Rochester Hills City Council is among Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson's "Elite 40 Under 40" Class of 2013. 

Webber was chosen from more than 350 nominees for the honor, which highlights those who are excelling in their work field while giving back to the community.

Patterson launched the Elite 40 Under 40 initiative in 2012 to identify young entrepreneurs and businesspeople who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, initiative and dedication in pursuing their careers and are improving the quality of life in their communities. The nominees must live or work in Oakland County.

"They are creative entrepreneurs today and will be the leaders of our communities tomorrow," Patterson said in his 2013 State of the County address.

Michael Webber grew up in Rochester Hills, where he graduated from Rochester Adams High School. After graduating from Michigan State University, Webber began a nine-year career in State Government. In 2007, Webber was elected as an at-large member of the Rochester Hills City Council. Following his 2011 re-election, Webber was elected as Vice President of the council.

Currently, Webber works as an insurance agent with Nickel & Saph, Inc. Webber stays active in his community, serving as the 58th President of the Rochester Area Junior Chamber (Jaycees), as a member of the Older Persons Commission Governing Board and as an active member of the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce. Webber also occasionally blogs about the Detroit Lions on Rochester-Rochester Hills Patch.

"And from what I can see, having read through more than 100 resumes, the future of Oakland County, and for that matter, the future of our region and our country is indeed secure, full of hope and promise." Patterson said.
