St. Luke’s Methodist was built in 1964 and moved its congregation to the area to service Oakland University. St. John Fisher was built to serve Oakland University and its namesake dates back to medieval England, and Five Points Community Church predates Oakland University and is named for its location at the intersection of five streets.
