Rochester Police Recover Used Hypodermic Needle

Man reports finding used needle, but no substance found inside vial.

The following information was provided by Rochester Police. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A Rochester Police officer met April 4 with a Rochester Hills man reporting a used hypodermic needle he had found, according to Rochester Police.

According to police, the needle was found near a tree line on the southwest corner of the intersection of First and Walnut. The needle did not have a point on it, nor any substance inside the vial, police said.

Police said the needle was taken to the Rochester Police Department for disposal.

Woman arrested on drunken-driving charges

On 040513 at approximately 0005 hours Rochester Police stopped 33-year-old Shelby Township woman on April 5 for several traffic offenses, according to a police report.

While investigating, the officer discovered the woman had been drinking. Police arrested the woman on a charge of operating while intoxicated after administering a field sobriety test, police said. The woman was taken to the Rochester Police Department, where she was given a breathalyzer test registering a .11 percent blood-alcohol content, above the state limit of .08 percent, police said. Police detained the woman and released her with a misdemeanor citation on the OWI charge.
