Weekend Guide: Tons of Trucks, 5Ks and Paddlepalooza

Tons of Trucks
All kinds of trucks and other heavy machinery will be on display from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at as part of RARA's free '' event. Kids will be allowed to see the trucks up close and personal — and climb inside them, too. Parents: don't forget your cameras.
Three 5K eventsÂ
- : All of the proceeds of this race will benefit cardiomyopathy research at the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the . Registration is $25.Â
- : Over 125,000 meals were prepared at OPC last year for the homebound and congregate senior meal program. To help raise funds, participate in this race along a flat course along the Clinton River Trail. Pre-register for $20 or register on race day for $25. The race begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the .Â
- :Â The third annual "Ashleigh's 5K Run/Walk" is planned for 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Bloomer Park. The walk is a fundraiser for the Ashleigh Iserman Boating Safety Foundation. Ashleigh, of Rochester Hills, was 17 when she was killed in a boating accident in 2004. Register ($20 for adults; $15 for youth and $70 for families) atwww.ashleighiserman.com.
Bowling — with a soundtrack
returns tonight at in Rochester Hills. The bowling alley will feature live music every Friday night; a $10 cover charge gets you three hours of glow bowling, live music and door prizes. Tonight's music will be performed by Side Two and Gone by Sunset.

Downtown Farmers' Market
The is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the corner of E. Third and Water streets in downtown Rochester. The vendor of the week this week is Choices Bath & Body of Ray, MI. The owners will be giving away free mini bath bombs and 20 percent off all products.
Paddlepalooza
Kayaks and canoes will be racing down the Clinton River on Saturday morning in the annual . Watch the festivities as they kick off at Riverside Park in Auburn Hills — or as they end near the intersection of Avon and Livernois roads. The race begins at 8 a.m.Â

The Secret Garden
Avon Players' closes this weekend, with performances planned for 8 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday. Though the Saturday show is sold out, there are tickets still available at www.avonplayers.org for the Friday show.
