Yates Cider Mill Launches Spring Cider Pressing

From Yates Cider Mill: Yates Cider Mill launches its Spring Cider Pressing season on Friday, April 14 at 4pm, with a special grand opening event featuring Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett partaking in the first donuts and cider of the spring season. The community is invited to enjoy cider and donut samples from 4-5pm. New this year, Yates Cider Mill will be open throughout the summer offering its famous donuts, cider, fudge and bakery favorites along with its summer ice cream features including Yates donut sundae, featured custard sundaes, hand dipped ice cream, malts, shakes and more.

“We started offering a spring pressing a few years ago on a very small scale and its really become a popular way for our community to enjoy some of their Yates favorites while getting out and enjoying Michigan’s great spring weather." said Mike Titus, Yates Cider Mill President. “With improvements in cold storage technology, apples stay fresh over the winter.

This gives us the chance to press in the spring and kick off our new summer season. We're excited to spend the summer offering Yates classics to the community."

With a history that dates back to 1863, Yates Cider Mill is a Pure Michigan tradition. Crisp, cold cider and always-fresh donuts have become a staple treat for Metro Detroit families coming each fall, and throughout the year. Tucked along the Clinton River, Yates has been water-powered since its inception and continues to press cider with the same tradition and attention to detail established by the first Yates generation, years ago.

Yates Cider Mills is located at 1990 East Avon Road in Rochester Hills. Yates Ice Cream Shop hours are Monday-Saturday from 11 am-9pm and Sunday from 1pm-9 pm. Cider Mill hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-9pm and Saturday-Sunday from 9am-9pm. Yates has a second store at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion Yates at Canterbury carries all of your Yates favorites, has indoor seating and a complete coffee bar and ice cream shop.
