2 Found Dead In Madison Heights House Fire Ruled Murder-Suicide: Cops
Investigators said the two had been in a past dating relationship.
MADISON HEIGHTS, MI — A man and woman who were found dead inside a house fire Wednesday in Madison heights has now been ruled a murder-suicide, according to police.
Firefighters found Christopher Spicer, 40, and Candace Hawkins, 42, dead inside the home on West Harwood Avenue near John R and Lincoln Avenue, according to police.
Police said autopsies showed Hawkins was stabbed to death and Spicer died from self-inflicted stab wounds. Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set.

Investigators said Spicer lived at the home in Madison heights, but Hawkins had a different address in the Madison Heights. Investigators also said the two had been in a past dating relationship.
"The Madison Heights Police Department is still reviewing evidence to confirm if it is consistent with both the autopsy results and the Madison Heights Fire Department’s determination," officials said in a statement. "Our condolences go out to those affected by this tragedy."
