Michigan’s second-largest fireworks show will be held June 28 at Borden Park in Rochester Hills as part of the community’s “Festival of the Hills.” Beyond the 40-minute fireworks show, family games, food and music will highlight the event. Attendees should bring their own chairs and blankets.

If you don’t mind driving a little further, The Henry Ford’s annual “Salute To America” concert and fireworks show will be held in Dearborn. Ticket prices are reduced until June 18 and then rise by more than 10 percent.

Running from June 30 - July 3, Salute To America is a joint concert by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field Band. It’s held in Greenfield Village and features great music with real cannon fire for Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture finale.

The Henry Ford boasts that each performance is “exuberant collection of songs, food and fanfare that is quintessentially American.” Early bird tickets are $25 for general admission non-DSO members while youths ages 3-11 are $15.50 and 2 and under are free. Starting June 19, prices go up to $29 and $19.50, respectively.

Of course, if you’re looking for even more fireworks, metropolitan Detroit has a host of shows between now and early July. Check out Patch’s 2017 fireworks guide to find out when and where.
