5 Things To Do This Weekend In Metro Detroit

A 'Groundhog Day' screening, performance by the Five Irish Tenors and shows at the Ferndale Blues and Music Festival await you!

METRO DETROIT, MI — Check out a few adventures in the Detroit area to add to your weekend itinerary.

1. Celebrate the groundhog - and vintage Bill Murray - by catching a screening of 'Groundhog Day' at the Main Art Theatre (118 North Main St., Royal Oak). Showtime: Friday, Feb. 3 at midnight.

2. You'll be singing 'Danny Boy' all weekend after catching a performance by the Five Irish Tenors. The Irish group will perform classic Irish melodies at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center (15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn) on Friday, Feb. 3 at 8:00 p.m. Click here to buy tickets.

3. Take a trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts (5200 Woodward Ave., Detroit). Volunteers will share stories about the museum's African American art collection throughout February in honor of Black History Month.

4. Do you have the blues? You will after this weekend. Ferndale's Blues and Music Festival continues rocking out with over 60 concerts and music events at venues across Ferndale and Hazel Park. Most of the shows are free however any donations will go towards the Ferndale Youth Assistance. Click here for details.

5. Add a dose of culture to your weekend at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra is performing 'Jupiter Symphony' as part of its Mozart Fest celebration on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 and up.
