Booze To Be Part Of Taco Bell Cantina's Menu

Fast food giant coming to Royal Oak with new concept, that will include mixed drinks, beer.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Bean burrito, tostada, nachos and …. booze? That’s right Royal Oak, Taco Bell Cantina is coming to downtown and they’re bringing alcohol with them. The fast food chain is moving into the old Cold Stone Creamery storefront at 420 S. Main and will be serving an expanded menu that includes beer and mixed drinks, according to a Detroit News report.

An opening date hasn’t been announced, but a sign on the front of building says Taco Bell is currently hiring staff. It will be the first Taco Bell Cantina in Michigan, the News reported. The concept started in Chicago in 2015 and the company is shooting for 300 Cantina’s by 2022, Nasdaq reported.

And a different concept it is. Cantina will focus primarily on foot traffic rather than drive-thru service. A Cantina opened in Cleveland in June and it was described as having wooden tables, industrial-style chairs and high ceilings, according to a Cleveland.com report.
