High Wind Watch Issued For Oakland County On Saturday

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Oakland County for this coming Saturday, with wind gusts of up to 60 mph possible.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, weather forecasters warn. Power outages are also possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

According to the National Weather Service, the peak winds are expected early Saturday afternoon.
Residents are advised to fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.

The watch is scheduled to be in effect from 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 until 8 p.m. that same day.

Other counties included in Saturday's high wind watch are: Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawasee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw, Lenawee and Monroe.
