More Than 1K Without Power After Electrical Fire In Oakland Co.: DTE

SOUTHFIELD, MI — More than 1,000 DTE Customers were without power Tuesday morning after an electrical manhole burst into flames in Southfield, according to officials.
Most of the outages were in the area of 13 Mile and Telegraph roads in Southfield, and neighboring communities in Bingham Farms, Beverly Hills and Franklin, according to the utility's outage map.
Multiple traffic signals in the area were also out due to the fire, officials said.

"The power is out in the area and the traffic signals are not functioning," officials for the Oakland County Road Commission said in a Facebook post Monday. "Huge traffic backups at 12 Mile/Telegraph Road area."
DTE Energy said power should be restored sometime Tuesday afternoon, according to the utility's outage map.

Officials were still investigating what caused the electrical manhole to burst into flames.
