Royal Oak Man Breaks Into Ex's Home, Shoots Her After She Stabbed Him: Police

The woman said she stabbed her ex-boyfriend in self-defense after he broke into her home and pointed a gun at her, according to police.

MADISON HEIGHTS, MI — A Royal Oak man is facing multiple felonies in connection with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and shooting her after she stabbed him in self-defense last Saturday, according to police.

The 25-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her leg and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is expected to be OK, according to police.

He was placed in jail with a bond set at $1 million.

Police said Lowe broke into his ex-girlfriend's home on the 27000 block of Delton Street in Madison Heights last Saturday at 10:30 p.m. and hid there until she returned home.

When the 25-year-old woman walked into the home with her 2-year-old daughter, Lowe pointed a handgun at her and refused to let her leave, according to police.

The woman was able to grab a kitchen knife and stab Lowe while he was distracted, according to police.

Lowe then shot the woman in her leg as she ran out of the house with her daughter, according to police.

She made it to a neighbor's house where she called 911 and identified herself as Lowe's ex-girlfriend, and said that she stabbed Lowe in self-defense, according to police.

Lowe also called police and told officials that he was stabbed in the neck by his girlfriend, according to police.

Lowe was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, according to police.
