Popular Ferndale Restaurant Closing After New Year's Eve

FERNDALE, MI — A popular Ferndale restaurant is closing its doors after New Year's Eve, according to a Facebook post by the restaurant.

Assaggi Bistro, located at 330 W. 9 Mile, said that with "mixed emotions," New Year's Eve will be its last night of service, as a new restaurant is expected to open in the spring after the space is renovated. The restaurant opened more than 20 years ago.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers for their years of patronage and many wonderful memories," the post said.

The elegant restaurant sits more than 60 people in its dining room, and features a menu heavily influenced by Mediterranean and European dishes.
