Rash Of Vehicle Break-Ins Hits Royal Oak

Four cars were recently broken into in a neighborhood west of Crooks Road and north of 12 Mile Road.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Vehicles parked at several homes just west of Northwood Elementary school were the recent targets of break-ins in Royal Oak. According to Royal Oak Police Department reports, four vehicles had items stolen from them between late July 5 and early July 6.

Items stolen range from loose change and cash to personal items, reports said. Here’s a rundown of recent vehicle break-ins from the Royal Oak Police Department:

  • 1800 block of Vinsetta, 7-5-17 – 7-6-17, 8:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into both of their vehicles parked in the driveway, taking loose change.
  • 2000 block of Alicia Lane, 7-5-17 – 7-6-17, 10:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole cash and personal items from her vehicle parked in the driveway.
  • 2000 block of Alicia Lane, 7-5-17 – 7-6-17, 9:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) rummaged through two of their unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway, taking change from one vehicle.
  • 2000 block of Alicia Lane, 7-5-17 – 7-6-17, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into his vehicle parked in the driveway and stole loose change and paperwork.

  • 4800 block of Woodland, 7-5-17 – 7-6-17, 8:00 p.m. – 6:58 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires and wheels from his 2017 Dodge.
  • 2000 block of Torquay Ave., 7-6-17- 7-7-17, 7:45 p.m.- 6:30 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) stole all four rims and tires, and the factory GPS system from her 2016 Dodge.
  • 800 block of Park Ave. 7-6-17- 7-7-17, 5:30 p.m.- 9:30 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked 2016 Chevrolet and stole a wallet containing $20.00 and several credit cards.
  • 1900 block of Parmenter Blvd., 7-6-17- 7-7-17, 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) broke the glass of the passenger side window and stole the factory GPS system.
  • 1600 block of Roseland Blvd., 7-7-17- 7-8-17, 8:30 p.m.- 10:00 a.m.: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked 2016 Chevrolet and stole a wallet containing $300.00 and multiple gift cards.
