Royal Oak Ranked Michigan's Best Small City: Study
Royal Oak, check out why researchers say you're the best Michigan has to offer.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Royal Oak, you're not just a good place to live. You're the best. That's the word from the financial website WalletHub.
WalletHub researchers set out to find the "best small city to live" in America by analyzing 1,268 small cities (with populations ranging from 25,000 to 100,000) across the country. Researchers poured over FBI statistics and U.S. Census Bureau data and rated cities on livability factors: affordability (i.e. housing prices), economic health (i.e. unemployment rate), education and health (i.e. high school graduation rate), quality of life (i.e. number of restaurants), and safety (i.e. violent crime rate).
When you tally those scores up, it's official - Royal Oak is the number one best small city to live in the state and nationally it's ranked 137th. So, what makes Royal Oak scientifically the best Michigan has got? The study found it was boosted by high marks for economic health and safety (shout out to Royal Oak police).
