Due to the extreme cold, Royal Oak public schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
"In making a determination to close school, all of the following are considered: how low the wind chill temperatures will be, when they will be extreme, and for how long during the day such conditions are anticipated to last," said Superintendent Shawn Lewis-Lakin.
The City of Royal Oak has additional information regarding precautions they recommend that citizens take in such weather conditions.
