Royal Oak Schools Partner With Berkley Schools To Celebrate MLK Day

Royal Oak schools will partner with Berkley​​ schools for a day of learning and service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.​

ROYAL OAK, MI — Royal Oak schools will partner with Berkley schools for a day of learning and service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The event will be held on Martin Luther King Day at Berkley High School, where attendees will find refreshments and supplies to make a poster for the walk. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

The group will assemble for the freedom walk through the Berkley community at 9:30 a.m. The group will end its walk back at Berkley High School, and will proceed to sort donations, make cards of thanks for first responders and military personnel and create no-sew fleece blankets to donate to the Welcome Inn Shelter.

All Royal Oak schools and Administrative Offices have collection bins for various items requested by charitable organizations, including Redford Brightmoor Initiative, Royal Oak First Missions & Outreach, Judson Center, and Cass Community Social Services. Our schools have selected one of the charities to ensure a wide variety of donations is collected.

Donations can also be dropped off curbside on the day of the event in front of Berkley High between 9 and 11:30 a.m.
