Royal Oak's Arts, Beats And Eats Expects Over 200 Musical Acts

The four-day event, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will showcase R&B, pop and rock hits from nine different stages.

ROYAL OAK, MI — The 25th anniversary of the Arts, Beats and Eats event in downtown Royal Oak will feature over 200 musical acts during Labor Day weekend.

The four-day event will showcase R&B, pop and rock hits covering the past several decades from nine different stages. Rapper Flo Rida will headline the Jim Beam National Stage, which will also feature hip-hop legend Rob Base, Scottish funk group Average White Band, Tommy DeCarlo of Boston and R&B singer Montell Jordan who had a massive hit in 1995 with "This is How We Do It."

The other eight stages will showcase local performers that will include acoustic music, electronic DJs and kids programming.

"We are looking forward to celebrating the festival’s milestone year with the hundreds of thousands of Metro Detroiters and beyond who flock to downtown Royal Oak year after year to take in the sounds of various genres of music, feast on mouthwatering cuisine and explore new taste offerings, browse and shop one-of-a-kind artworks, make lifetime memories with the family and more,” Arts Beats & Eats producer Jon Witz said.

The festival is scheduled for Sept. 2-5 in downtown Royal Oak. Admissions before 3 p.m. will be 5 p.m. and increase to $10 after that.
