Running Community Shows Its Support for Boston
"Runners for Boston" group run rasies money for the victims of the Boston Marathon attack.

More than 200 area athletes participated in a "Runners for Boston" event in Royal Oak on Monday evening.
The group run was hosted by Hansons Running Shop. Runners paid $20 for a T-Shirt to show their support for those affected by the tragic events that occurred at the Boston Marathon on April 15.
All the money raised was donated to The One Fund, the central non-profit announced by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to raise money for the victims of the attack that left three dead and more than 170 wounded.

"As a whole there has been nothing but support for the entire city of Boston, the victims, and their families as well as law enforcement and the sacrifices they made," said Don Jackson, general manager of Hansons Running Shop. "It is times like these where the running community, much like the rest of the country and the rest of the world, come together in support of the victims of terrorism."
