Single Car Crash Kills 3 In Oakland County
The single-car crash killed three people when the driver hit a tree. One passenger survived and is in critical condition.
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Three people died following a single car crash in Bloomfield Township July 1 after the driver hit a tree. Police and fire responded to the crash just after 3:30 p.m. near Heathfield and Berkshire roads.
Police say they are unsure what happened, but the driver, a 72-year-old woman from Southfield, veered off the road in her 2017 Chevrolet and hit the tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene, along with two of three passengers: a 69-year-old man from Oak Park and a 29-year-old woman from Southfield. One passenger, a 71-year-old woman from Royal Oak, was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition, police said.
It is unclear if alcohol was a factor in the crash, police said.

The Traffic Investigations Unit of the Bloomfield Township Police Department is investigating the cause of the incident. The Southwest Oakland County Crash Investigations Team is assisting.
