Teen Arrested After Police Chase Through Oakland County: Cops

A 19-year-old man is facing charges after leading officers on a chase through Berkley and Royal Oak, according to police.

BERKLEY, MI — A 19-year-old man is facing charges after leading officers on a chase through Berkley and Royal Oak, according to police.

Cameron Scott was charged with third-degree fleeing police, carrying a concealed weapon, and driving with a suspended license. He was placed in the Oakland County Jail with an $11,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for next Friday.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison for the fleeing police charge and up to five years for carrying a concealed weapon.

Scott is also banned from entering the cities of Berkley and Royal Oak except for court purposes, according to police.

Officers on Wednesday tried to pull a white Ford Fusion over for a traffic stop near 12 Mile Road and Coolidge Highway, according to police.

The driver refused to stop and sped toward 11 Mile Road, as officers began chasing the car, according to police.

During the chase, police said the driver tossed a firearm from the car.

Officers eventually boxed in the car and arrested the driver, later identified as Scott, according to police.

Berkley police also released dash camera video of the chase.
