Tree Lighting is Magical Hometown Event
Residents young and old gathered for a holiday tradition in Royal Oak – the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Royal Oak was the stage for a heartwarming, old-fashioned tree lighting ceremony Thursday night.
The event included the Holiday Marketplace at Farmers Market, an outdoor sing-a-long with the Royal Oak Children's Choir and music from the Salvation Army Band.
The big tree outside City Hall officially lit up after Santa arrived - with fanfare on a fire truck - and then flipped a switch from the stage to magically light up the traditional evergreen tree and other trees lining the walkway to the nearby Royal Oak Public Library.
