The fall season officially came to a close Saturday, when the Saline girls swim and dive team of winning a third straight state title. Saline came home with the state runnerup trophy. Meanwhile, winter sports are underway. The Hornets ice hockey team lost 5-2 to Detroit Country Day Saturday and 5-2 to Grosse Pointe South, on Wednesday.

Police Chief Bunten to Retire Early

If you missed it Saturday, that Saline Police Chief Paul Bunten has announced his intention to retire in January of 2012. He originally planned to retire in July of 2012 to help the department train a second in command, but the city pulled the plug on Bunten's plan to hire and train a new Lieutenant, saying the choice should be left to a new chief.

Things to Keep in Mind During Parent/Teacher Conferences
