Lady Hornets Lacrosse Team Advances at Farmington

Chelsey Bishop scored four goals while three other Hornets chipped in with two goals.

Chelsey Bishop scored four goals to help the Hornets girls’ lacrosse team advance in district play with a 10-7 win over host Farmington High School Thursday.

Sarah Ball, Ashlyn Simion and Allison Rentschler each scored two goals for Saline. Goalie Laura Nye stopped 10 shots.

“It was a well-played game by both teams. Our transition play was great tonight, with nice, crisp passes,” said coach Deb Elliot. “It was nice to see our newest players getting on the score sheet and making an impact tonight.”

Elliot credited the play of Ball and Simion and said the Hornets were buoyed by “fantastic hustle” from freshman Liesel Baker.

Saline plays Mercy High School at 7 p.m., May 30 as post season play continues.
