Saline Police and Fire Responded to Predominantly Medical Calls, Several Serious Incidents (thesuntimesnews.com) — Emergency crews in Saline handled more than 40 medical calls in one week, many involving seniors at local facilities and students at Saline schools and athletic venues. Police and fire also dealt with burglaries, fraud, crashes on Michigan Avenue, frequent alarm activations, and various welfare checks, with most incidents resolved without arrests or major injuries.
   

2. Saline Area Schools Makes Some Purchases (thesuntimesnews.com) — Saline Area Schools just approved more than $2 million in technology, bleacher, furniture, and mechanical upgrades that will impact classrooms, Saline High School’s main gym, the Senior Center, and the Heritage STEAM addition. New staff and student laptops, wireless access points, and safer, more accessible bleachers are scheduled to roll out through 2026.
   

3. Saline Township resident takes legal action to stop data center (michigandaily.com) — A Saline Township resident is asking a judge to let her join the lawsuit over the proposed $7 billion Stargate data center, arguing township officials violated Michigan’s Open Meetings Act. Her challenge could upend a consent judgment that advanced the Oracle- and OpenAI-backed project and force a new public decision on rezoning hundreds of acres in Saline Township.
   

4. Daniel Edwards Elected to Membership Into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (thesalinepost.com) — A Saline resident, Daniel Edwards III, has been invited to join Phi Kappa Phi, a prestigious national honor society recognizing top students at Eastern Michigan University. His selection places him among a small percentage of high-achieving students, faculty, and alumni honored each year for academic excellence and commitment to learning.
   

5. Saline Student Accepted into Albion College Academic Program of Distinction (thesalinepost.com) — A Saline resident and Saline High School graduate, Brendan Warwinsky, has been invited into Albion College’s prestigious Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service. The first-year student will gain hands-on experience in public policy, community leadership, and internships designed to help him tackle real-world issues.
