Leaders are debating whether the city can afford to buy and maintain the 6-acre property, how to finance it without raising taxes, and what community uses—like a park, museum, or cultural venue—might best serve residents.
   

3. Saline man, 61, dies in weekend snowmobile crash in U.P. (detroitnews.com) — A 61-year-old man from Saline died after being ejected from his snowmobile on a trail in Mackinac County’s Clark Township over the weekend, despite life‑saving efforts by first responders. Michigan State Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors, and note the crash is among several recent serious snowmobile incidents statewide.

5. 6-month pause on data center proposals under consideration near Ann Arbor (mlive.com) — Lodi Township leaders are weighing a six‑month moratorium on new data center proposals as they watch the massive OpenAI–Oracle “Stargate” project unfold in neighboring Saline Township. Officials want time to craft zoning rules on siting, water use, and other impacts before any proposals arrive, and will decide in February whether to act quickly by resolution or pursue a stronger ordinance approach.
