Surprised to find this information on a Livingston County radio station's website, but WHMI reported that the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments has honoroed Saline Mayor Gretchen Driskell for her work promoting transportations and funding around the state.
Vintage Truck and Tractor Show Aug. 20
BeSaline.com added the Saline Area Historical Society's Vintage Truck and Tractor Show to its events calendar. The takes place Aug. 20 at the Rentschler Farm. The show features a 1939 Saline fire engine. The first 50 kids in attendance will receive firefighter helmets.

Holden, Zimmer File for School Board Election
AnnArbor.com reported David Holden and David Zimmer have paid the filing fee and will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot for the Saline Area Schools Board of Educations. The terms of David Friese and David Medley expire at the end of the year. Friese is circulating a petition and intends to run. Medley has decided against running.
Jeppesen Takes 4th
Saline High School graduate Marty Jeppesen shot a 66 and finished fifth at the Michigan Open at The Orchards Golf Club in Washington Township, according to AnnArbor.com. Jeppesen now golf for Eastern Michigan University.
