Saline High School Makes Newsweek's Top 1,000

Saline High School was ranked the 657th best high school in America in rankings released Monday.

made the grade on yet another ranking of America’s best schools.

Monday, the Daily Beast released Newsweek’s rankings of the 1,000 best high schools in the nation. Saline ranked 657th in the country, 21st in Michigan and third in Washtenaw County (behind Huron and Chelsea).

According to Newsweek, the schools are ranked by their proven effectiveness in turning out college-ready graduates. The rankings are based graduation rate, college matriculation rate, the number of AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, test scores, and AP courses offered per student.

The rankings showed Saline with a graduation rate of 94 percent and 90 percent of students bound for college. Saline’s average ACT score of 24.7 was tied for fifth best in the state and the second best average AP scores in the state.
