"After the amount of time spent and work done investigating this case, we're pleased with the high bond," said Saline Police Detective Don Lupi.
Sandig was arraigned in May on a two-count felony warrant as a result of a investigation. Sandig was supposed to be arraigned on a 13-count warrant. His bond was set at $3,500. He posted his bond, fled the state, and failed to appear for the May 3 preliminary exam in Washtenaw County.

In February, after a seven-week investigation into alleged fraudulent activities, Sandig was advised by police that several warrants were forthcoming. By March 1, officers lost contact with Sandig. Saline Police were able to locate him in Los Angeles and he was extradited to Michigan and lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail, according to police.
Police began investigating Sandig when another man discovered a bank account and credit cards were opened in his name. The alleged victim suspected Sandig, who had access to his personal information. Sandig kept a copy of the man’s application form and used the information to open bank accounts and three credit cards that were quickly maxed out before they were trashed, according to police reports.
