SHS Science Olympiad Team Sixth at State Tournament
Saline High School has placed in the top 10 at the Michigan Science for four straight years.

The Saline High School Science Olympiad team took sixth place at the Science Olympiad State Tournament held at Michigan State University April 29.
It was the fourth consecutive top-10 finish for Saline at the state tournament.
About 230 high school high teams competed at the Science Olympiad Regional competitions during February and March, with 48t high school teams advancing to the state tournament.

The tournament consisted of 23 events with two or three team members participating in each event. Medals were awarded to top six teams and each team was ranked based on their combined performance on all events.
Saline received five medals and placed in top 25 percent in 13 events. Saline competed in Green Generation trial event and placed 10th.

Here are the medal winners
1st Place — Fermi Questions (Noel Bhattacharyya and Karl Winsor)
2nd Place — Gravity Vehicle (Jessica Lipa & Eric Winsor)
3rd Place — Forensics (Andrea Blankenship and Mehul Kulkarni)
4th Place — Dynamic Planet (Andrew Chen and Jacob Tanner)
4th Place — Optics (Sushrut Athavale & Karl Winsor)
4th Place — Optics (Sushrut Athavale and Karl Winsor)
The team also included Vishal Subramanian, Ian Kaferle, Jay Banet, Nirvan Bhattacharyya, Victor Chen, and Michael Torssell. Andrew Abdallah and Kyle Fitzpatrick represented Saline High School in the Green Generation event. The team is coached by Shounak Athavale.
