Man Killed In Macomb County Motorcycle Crash: Police

Police do not believe alcohol or speed played a role in the fatal crash.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI — A man is dead after a weekend motorcycle crash in Macomb County, according to police.

The crash happened at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in front of Murphy Gas on 23 Mile Road near Shelby Parkway in Shelby Township, according to police.

Police said 38-year-old Paul William McDonald, of Lapeer, turned left onto the drive from 23 Mile Road.

He then lost control of his motorcycle and crossed over the center of the driveway, striking a curb, and then a light pole, according to police.

McDonald was taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital where he died, according to police.

Police do not believe alcohol or speed played a role in the fatal crash.

Police were still investigating the incident.
