STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. —The Block at Sterling Heights, a new apartment community located at 34911 Van Dyke Ave. in Sterling Heights, will hold a ribbon-cutting celebration at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
The event is being held in partnership with the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce and will include hors d’oeuvres and tours of the building.

Colin Hooper, Managing Director of Repvblik, said he is looking forward to welcoming community leaders to The Block at Sterling Heights to celebrate the arrival of a much-needed affordable housing option.
“We are so proud of The Block and what it brings to Sterling Heights, and can’t wait to show it off to the community’s leaders and residents at this event,” Hooper said. “We are excited to be part of this community and especially pleased that we can provide reasonably priced housing to Metro Detroit residents, which is in high demand both locally and across Michigan.”

Repvblik specializes in the adaptive reuse of obsolete commercial real estate. The Block is a multi-million-dollar project that, in addition to offering needed housing options, modernizes and beautifies the streetscape, which under the previous hotel operation had become an eyesore in recent years.
“We’re proud to have PK Housing and Management and Repvblik as a new member of the Macomb Chamber of Commerce in beautiful Sterling Heights,” said Robert Perakis, the Chamber’s Director of Business Development.
Residents of The Block can choose between six distinct studio and one-bedroom floor plans, ranging between 315 and 825 square feet. Each residence is equipped with stainless-steel appliances, vinyl plank flooring, and window coverings. Rents for most apartments range from $825 to $1,300 per month, with large loft apartments renting for $1,500 per month. More than half of the available apartments are under lease.
The Block at Sterling Heights offers amenities such as a fitness center, recreational green space, laundry facility on each floor, secure mail room, resident lounge, and 24-hour emergency maintenance. Amenities planned for the future include an outdoor dog park and bike parking.
The Block is also situated near key businesses and schools such as M-Tec (Macomb Community College), Dana Corporation, Sterling Heights Assembly, GM Tech Center, and Walmart, The Block provides residents with easy access to major employment centers, retail, restaurants and colleges, and is near the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill.
“The Block at Sterling Heights is an ideal housing option for a large part of the local population,” Hooper said. “With a great location, appearance and features, it’s apartment living with convenience and class.”
