Chocolatier Opens Whimsical Candy Store in Shelby Township

La Mia Dolci candy store opens just in time for the Easter basket candy season.

La Mia Dolci candy store on the corner of 25 Mile and Shelby roads officially opened for business over the weekend.

Owner Kate DiLiddo said she chose the location hoping it would entice hungry and thirsty bikers, hikers and runners coming off the Macomb Orchard Trail to stop by and pick up an all-natural chocolate delight after their workout.

DiLiddo, who is a chocolatier, said she makes by hand all the truffles, chocolate-covered pretzels, monogrammed chocolate logos, trail mix and more.

La Mia Dolci is more than just a chocolate store.

“The store has gummy bears for kids and fun nostalgic candies such as Boston Baked Beans and teaberry gum for the adults,” said Diliddo.

Which is exactly why DiLiddo decided to name the store La Mia Dolci, which means the sweets of mine.

DiLiddo put together a beautiful Easter basket filled to the brim with her handmade chocolates, hand-painted bunnies and gummy candies.

For a chance to win the basket, stop in the store and leave your name.

Welcome to the neighborhood, La Mia Dolci!
